ChestEye for radiologists

ChestEye was created to reduce the workload of radiologists, by taking care of the tedious part of the work. As the X-Ray scan is performed, ChestEye automatically analyses the image and produces a preliminary diagnosis report as well as findings heatmap on the X-Ray image. It saves the radiologist from manually describing the case. In addition, the radiologist is already provided with an informed diagnosis opinion when he first sees the image. According to our internal trials, it allows to reduce time-per-patient by at least 30% percent. In addition, ChestEye detects secondary findings which could be missed by the radiologist in time-sensitive, stressful working conditions reducing the error rate. Additional functionality such as radiology queue management module prioritizes cases inviting urgent specialist attention. Ability to search and discover images with similar radiological appearance enables to make a more precise diagnosis and provides a valuable ‘second opinion’.

ChestEye integrates with PACS and RIS infrastructure. We developed ChestEye to run ‘under the surface’ of radiology department infrastructure, without the need for additional dashboards or screens. After the X-Ray scan is performed, the findings are automatically localized on a heatmap and preliminary report generated in existing RIS system. The radiologists is provided with the report and diagnosis when he first sees the processed X-Ray image. Therefore introduction of ChestEye requires no changes to the current radiology department workflow.

ChestEye preliminary reports can be customized to adhere to the reporting practice of your medical institutions. We already have deployment experience where the reports had to be customized to fit the needs of the customer. We aim to provide reports in such manner that they could be used as a finalized diagnosis document.

The reports are generated in the native language of a medical institution, also adhering to the medical terminology used. ChestEye currently supports 12 European languages and the number is constantly increasing. If the language is not currently supported we are adding additional language support per client request. It usually takes up to 4 weeks to add additional language support. With the goal to increase productivity by more than 30%, we aim to generate preliminary reports in the way they could be used as a finalized diagnosis document.

ChestEye was developed due to the global shortage of radiology specialists. In addition, the workload of radiologists is ever increasing. ChestEye aims to make radiologist work less tiresome, reduce the stress-levels and provide faster, more accurate diagnosis. From our experience, medical institutions were able to increase radiology department productivity by at least 30%.

For instance, a hospital could provide same day scan reports for ambulatory patients - which earlier took at least 3 work days - the same level of service as for hospitalized patients. The vast majority of reports were approved by the radiologist without any modification, some of the reports were more precise or identified additional findings as compared to an unaided radiologist. ChestEye is usually deployed on client premises with data processing and storage on site. Cloud deployment is also possible depending on client and legislative requirements.
